About Veneers
Veneer is a thin layer of wood of uniform thickness produced by a peeling, slicing, or sawing of logs, bolts, cants, or flitches. The art of veneering is nearly 4,000 years old. An early form of plywood and veneer construction was found in the tombs of the Pharaohs in Egypt. The designer is sensitive to the material as is the sculptor or painter. Full expression of design depends on the species of wood selected and the cutting method used to extract the natural beauty. Logs used for the production of the decorative face veneers are selected according to size, growth rate, and visual characteristics. Factors such as colour, figure, and natural character marks which reappear in the veneer are very important considerations. Veneer cutting or slicing takes place on a vertical or horizontal slicer, a half-round or stay-log slicer, or a full rotary machine. The cutting method used will be determined by the species and the desired grain characteristics. Veneers are manufactured to the many thickness and moisture content standards preferred throughout the world in accordance with the end and the customer's special requirements.
The method in which veneers are cut is an important factor in producing the various visual effects. Two logs of the same species, but with their veneers cut differently, will have entirely different visual characteristics. In veneer manufacturing, five principle methods of cutting are used: rotary, flat slicing, quarter slicing, rift-cut and half-round slicing.

Veneer
Ashutosh Industries is engaged in manufacturing Decorative Veneer in India and is the leading Manufacturer of Decorative Teak Face Veneer in India.
We are specialised in manufacturing of Teak Veneer from sustainable Teak logs from natural Indian forest. Other then Teak we slice a variety of species like Red Oak, American Walnut, Sapeli, White Oak, Etc.
We offer Veneer in Flitch, Ready to Splice Veneer, Veneer in Layons/ Sheet.
Layons are veneer leaves spliced together using glue or thread in order to create a variety of decorative visual effects.
We also offer Design Door Skins. These are available in various Pattern as per requirement of our clients.

Quarter Cut Sawn Lumber
We offer teak wood lumber in multiple qualities, including FEQ (First Europen Quality) and MEQ (Middle East Quality) and Quarter Cut. They can be used for decking, door and window frames, Furniture or interior and outdoor applications.

First European Quality Teak(FEQ)
First European Quality (FEQ) is a quality standard for teak. As per the official definition, an FEQ teak is a teak with no knots, cracks, sapwood or insect holes. It is the highest graded wood within teak and finds effective use in European countries.
With uniformity across its four faces, FEQ teak stripes exhibit a quarter, crown, grain, grainless or semi type. It is commonly used in the marine industry for yacht or boat building. It is also used to manufacture furniture and in outdoor decking.

Middle East Quality Teak(MEQ)
Middle East Quality (MEQ) is also a quality standard for teak. As per the official definition, an MEQ teak is a teak with one or two defects in the form of saps or knots. It is usually exported to the Middle Eastern countries.
With uniformity across one face, MEQ teak stripes exhibit either a grain or a grainless type. It is commonly used in buildings or construction industry.
